San Javier house fire leaves one man dead
The 61-year-old was already unconscious by the time ambulances arrived

A 61-year-old man lost his life in the early hours of Wednesday morning, June 25, after a fire broke out in his San Javier home.
Emergency services received several calls at around 12.48am reporting a fire on the second floor of a two-storey building. Local police, firefighters from the Region of Murcia Fire and Rescue Consortium and 061 emergency medical teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters entered the apartment building and located the man inside, unconscious and in cardiac arrest. He was quickly pulled from the property and treated by paramedics, but despite their efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
By 2.37am, the blaze was fully extinguished and firefighting crews were able to withdraw.
The cause of the fire has not yet been made public.
