ARCHIVED - San Fulgencio toasts Oktoberfest: Friday September 16
Beer and big band music are promised in the Vega Baja town, Alicante

San Fulgencio is hosting its annual Oktoberfest on Friday September 16 in a nod to the mammoth festival celebrated every year in Munich, Germany since 1810.
In addition to the traditional tipple of beer, there will be music from the Little Big Band; Joe Johnstone, Eric Bosman, Marty Prior, Bobby Nikolov, along with special guests.
The festival, organised by Torrevieja Town Hall's Festivities Department, will be held in Calle Madrid (zona comercial) from 7pm to 10pm.
Oktoberfest takes place over a two-week period ending on the first Sunday in October and was first held on October 12, 1810, in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.
