The municipality of Rojales, in the Vega Baja of the Alicante province, has spent 39,000 euros restoring its historic windmill (Molino de Viento)and creating an attractive garden and seating area overlooking the Vega de la Segura.
According to the mayor, numerous small elements made up the large-scale project, including the elimination of wetlands, the correction of landslides, the sanitation of the building layer and the improvement of its appearance.
Work has also been done on floor of the surrounding area, replacing the lighting with new LED lights, as well as improving the seating and changing the electrical installation.
The 1,400 metre perimeter area has been completely re-tiled, recreating the three phases of the moon. In addition, the fence has been painted, new planting installed and the lighting has been changed, the sum total of which is an attractive area with fabulous views, open for residents to enjoy in the years to come.
