Property at Campoamor Golf
There is a wide range of rental and residential accommodation available around Campoamor golf course
Although the golf course has been open for twenty-five years, the model of development here has been the opposite of some of the newer developments which have been built on the new millennium: this is to say that residential building came after the course, which was originally out in the country.
Even now, the fairways are not lined with apartment blocks as is the case on more modern developments: rather, they occupy the slope on the other side of the valley which lies at the eastern end of the course. Those properties on the slope of the valley itself therefore have beautiful views out over the lush greenery of the course.
Obviously almost all of the property available is either new or semi-new, and the vast majority are apartments, many of which are available on a rental basis. However there are also detached villas, commercial units and plots for sale in Las Lomas de Campoamor, with a wide variety of accommodation to suit most requirements.

Temporary Accommodation
There are two hotel buildings located next to the golf course, one at the highest point next to the clubhouse, and the other just behind it in the sports complex, specially designed for visiting sports teams. Both are relatively recent additions (opened in 2002 and 2006), and provide plush 4-star accommodation, and this offer is complemented by the availability of self-catering rental apartments.

In recent years impressive facilities have been created within the development which has grown up around the golf course, making it possible to enjoy not only golf but also swimming (both outdoor and indoor pools are included in the complex), tennis (three courts), paddle-tennis (four courts), football (two full-size pitches) and even cricket! These facilities occupy over 100,000 square metres, and there is also a fully equipped modern gym as well as a wellness centre which boasts hot baths, a hydromassage spa and a beauty centre.
Within the residential areas on the other side of the valley – Las Lomas de Campoamor, Las Filipinas, Blue Lagoon and Villacosta – the apartments all have community swimming pools, and on the coast all of the facilities of the municipal sports centre and water sports are just a ten-minute drive away.
Shopping
The nearest shopping centre to the course is “La Fuente” in the Villacosta area which is not large but has all the basic facilities required as well as the usual eateries and also includes a chemist’s (open from 9.00 to 20.00), a large supermarket and a couple of banks. Other small commercial areas are located in the Blue Lagoon, Las Filipinas, Blue Lagoon and Villacosta areas, all of them just five minutes’ drive away from the golf course.
Further away are the large malls of La Zenia Boulevard (ten minutes’ drive), Habaneras in Torrevieja (20 minutes), Dos Mares in San Pedro del Pinatar (15 minutes), Espacio Mediterráneo in Cartagena (30 minutes) and the Nueva Condomina and Thader centres in the north of Murcia (45 minutes).
An alternative shopping visit for shoe fans would be the towns of Elche and Elda, where thousands of locals make their living in the footwear industry, one of the few sectors which have continued to thrive during Spain’s economic crisis over recent years. Shoes from this area are exported all over Europe and the rest of the world, and for those who like to keep abreast of the latest fashions the factory outlets in the area are a real shopper’s paradise.
Anyone wishing to sample the wares at typical local street markets in the morning should make a trip to any of the following, all of which are held weekly:
Monday: Santa Pola, San Pedro del Pinatar, Elche.
Tuesday: Orihuela, Mil Palmeras, Benijofar.
Wednesday: Monforte del Cid (fruit and veg only), Guardamar del Segura, La Mata. Santiago de la Ribera, San Miguel de Salinas.
Thursday: Campoamor, Cabo Roig, La Marina, Aspe (fruit and veg only), San Javier, Rojales.
Friday: Torrevieja, Pilar de la Horadada, Los Montesinos.
Saturday: Santa Pola, Almoradi, Playa Flamenca, Elche.
Sunday: La Marina, Ciudad Quesada, Campo Guardamar.
Medical Care Campoamor Golf
The nearest public health centre is in Calle del Mar in the Aguamarina area on the coast itself, around ten minutes away by car. During the week there is an all-night emergency unit at this centre, and at weekends this facility is operative 24 hours a day. The telephone number is 965 322965.
Two hospitals are located between 15 and twenty minutes’ drive away: one is the Los Arcos hospital to the south just outside San Javier (leave the AP-7 motorway at km 780 on the RM-1/MU-301 heading towards Santomera and Sucina), and the other is the Torrevieja hospital to the north (signposted from the N-332 on the CV-95 towards Orihuela).
There is a dispensing chemist’s in the “La Fuente” shopping centre just outside the golf course, in the Las Lomas de Campoamor residential area.
Other facilities nearby.
The golf complex is located just a 10 minute drive from the beaches of the Orihuela Costa coastline, or about 15 minutes in the opposite direction to the historic town of Orihuela itself, which gives the municipality its name. Orihuela as a municipality has a wide range of attractions and activities, with plenty of places to visit and activities to enjoy. More detailed information can be found in the dedicated Orihuela municipality section, accessed via the map box at the bottom of every page, including suggested places to visit and things to do.
