Prisoner flees Málaga hospital after claiming to have swallowed mobile phone
Inmate escapes on foot while under Guardia Civil escort for emergency treatment

According to union sources, the man had approached the prison doctor on Sunday and claimed to have ingested the phone. His condition prompted immediate transfer to the hospital for further checks.
Following his admission, the man was escorted under guard to the Virgen de la Victoria Hospital for evaluation. Once there, hospital staff confirmed that a mobile phone was indeed inside his body.
Despite being handcuffed and accompanied by officers from the Guardia Civil, the prisoner managed to escape while in the doctor’s office. He fled the hospital on foot and evaded the guards at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that the inmate's escape took place during the hospital visit. His identity has not been disclosed, and no further details have been provided regarding the exact circumstances of how he managed to get away.
The Guardia Civil launched a search operation shortly after the incident. As of Wednesday April 23, the man remains at large and the operation to locate him is ongoing. No further information has been released about the progress of the search or the inmate's current whereabouts.
