Possibility of light April showers: Alicante weather forecast Apr 18-21
The weekend ahead will be mostly dry with a few scattered showers in Alicante province
Friday morning, April 19
The traditional Spanish saying ‘En abril, aguas mil’ (‘In April, a thousand waters’) isn’t exactly holding true for Alicante province. Although many parts of Spain have experienced torrential storms over the past couple of weeks, in the south, temperatures have continued to rise and there’s been very little rainfall.
And it appears that this trend will continue for the next few days, for the most part.
Although Aemet’s weather forecast suggests the possibility of “weak and scattered” rainfall along coastal areas on Friday morning, any potential showers will likely be light and isolated.
Thursday April 18
Thursday’s forecast is for mostly clear or partially cloudy skies, with increasing cloud cover in the southern part of the province later in the day.
There will be no major changes in temperature, accompanied by light breezes that will intensify periodically along the coastlines of Valencia and Alicante.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 9ºC to 22ºC
Alicante: 12ºC to 21ºC
Denia: 11ºC to 21ºC
Elche: 11ºC to 23ºC
Orihuela: 11ºC to 25ºC
Friday April 19
There could be a shift in the weather on Friday, as the day will begin very overcast, but the skies should clear in the afternoon.
Scattered, weak rainfall could make an appearance during the first half of the day along coastal areas but these showers aren’t expected to be heavy or widespread.
Both day and night-time temperatures will drop slightly.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Friday
Alcoy: 7ºC to 19ºC
Alicante: 11ºC to 20ºC
Denia: 11ºC to 21ºC
Elche: 9ºC to 20ºC
Orihuela: 9ºC to 20ºC
Saturday April 20
By Saturday, temperatures are poised to increase substantially with inland municipalities seeing hikes of roughly 3ºC.
The skies should be mostly clear and bright, with some intervals of high clouds in the south of the province.
Gentle easterly winds will prevail in the afternoon, strengthening moderately along the southern coastline.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday
Alcoy: 8ºC to 22ºC
Alicante: 10ºC to 20ºC
Denia: 10ºC to 21ºC
Elche: 7ºC to 21ºC
Orihuela: 8ºC to 22ºC
Sunday April 21
Looking ahead to Sunday, the thermometers will return to their earlier trend and begin to drop again.
Cloudy spells will dominate the day, giving way to partly cloudy skies in the south by the afternoon.
Moderate winds will emerge intermittently along Alicante’s central coast at the same time.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Sunday
Alcoy: 7ºC to 21ºC
Alicante: 12ºC to 20ºC
Denia: 12ºC to 20ºC
Elche: 10ºC to 22ºC
Orihuela: 10ºC to 22ºC
