Orihuela launches pre-Christmas discount shopping bonuses
The vouchers will offer Orihuela shoppers 50% off their purchases
The Christmas season is in full swing and many shoppers will be hitting the streets in the coming weeks to pick up the essentials. To take the pressure off, Orihuela’s Department of Commerce has invested 342,478 euros in cash-back vouchers at participating stores around the city between December 11 and 18.
These vouchers will offer customers 50% off purchases and can be purchased in denominations of 10, 20, 40, 100 and 200 euros, although each shopper will be limited to a maximum of 200 euros.
Since the discounts have an actual cash value, consumers will be asked for their ID and personal information both when buying the vouchers and redeeming them.
The vouchers go on sale this week at www.orihuelabonoconsumo.es. Discount tickets can also be purchased from December 12 at the Department of Commerce, located in Orihuela City Hall, between the hours of 10am and 2pm, and again from 3pm to 6pm. Those interested must enter from the parking lot of the Marqués de Arneva Palace.
They can also be purchased at the City Hall headquarters in Orihuela Costa.
In all cases, shoppers must have either an NIE or DNI.
Orihuela City Council ran a similar money saving campaign back in November and while it was mostly well received, several customers were left disgruntled when more than 400 people queued up to buy vouchers and only 130 were available.
During the last campaign, 209 bars, restaurants, professional services and businesses from different sectors participated in the initiative.
