November 26 and 27: Orihuela food drive to help families in need

The public is being asked to help provide food relief to those experiencing hardship in Orihuela in the run-up to Christmas.

Orihuela Easter Brotherhood of El Prendimiento is staging a two-day food drive called Corazones solidarios (Hearts in solidarity) on November 26 and 27, with people encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and clothes.

The items will then be distributed among families and individuals most in need by Cáritas Interparroquial de Santas Justa y Rufina (Parish of Santas Justa and Rufina).

A collection point will be set up in the Museo de Semana Santa (Easter Week Museum) on Saturday November 26 from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm, and on Sunday November 27 from 10am to 1pm.
