A 25-year-old Norwegian man has been arrested in Fuengirola after a violent assault that left a 63-year-old Finnish man in a coma and later led to his death.

 

The incident occurred in the early hours of September 28 near the marina, where the Finnish man was waiting for a taxi with his wife and friends. Reports say a confrontation started when two women tried to cut in front of the group in the taxi line, sparking a heated argument. One of the women is said to have called her boyfriend, who was at a nearby nightclub.

 

After the altercation, the Finnish man was found unconscious on the ground. The two women and the 25-year-old Norwegian quickly left the scene.

 

Investigations revealed that the Norwegian man punched the Finnish victim in the face, causing him to fall backward and hit his head. The victim was in a coma for nearly two weeks before passing away on October 9.

 

Police’s violent crime unit, UDEV (Unidad de Delincuencia Especializada y Violenta), identified and arrested the Norwegian suspect on November 6. He was informed at the time of his arrest that the victim had died. The perpetrator is currently being held for murder without bail.
