ARCHIVED - Nature walks and activities in Murcia: January, February and March
Several guided walks through stunning natural areas in the Region of Murcia are on offer over the next three months
Nature-lovers across the Region will be pleased to hear that the guided walks and nature activities programme for January, February and March is about to begin.
All of the guided walks are free, but participants need to sign up beforehand as there is a maximum number of people per activity. There are also a series of age and fitness recommendations for each walk.
- Parque Regional Sierra Espuña: guided walk with special storytelling activity from 10.30am to 1.30pm on January 22.
- Protected Natural Area of Cabezo Gordo: guided walk from 11am to 1pm on January 23 and March 20.
- Parque Regional Calblanque: guided walk, with an animal spotting theme, from 10am to 1.30pm on January 30.
- Parque Regional Sierra Espuña: guided walk from 9.30am to 2.30pm on February 12.
- Parque Regional Calblanque: guided walk accompanied by information about the history of Calblanque from 9.30am to 1.30pm on February 19.
- Parque Regional el Valle y Carrascoy: special activity in honour of World Wildlife Day from 10am to 1pm on March 5.
- Parque Regional Calblanque: guided walk (Monte de las Cenizas) from 10am to 1.30pm on March 12.
- Parque Regional Sierra Espuña: guided walk accompanied by information about different animal and plant species from 10.30am to 1.30pm on March 27.
You must sign up for each activity on the Murcia Natural or Murcia Turística websites by filling out a form (in Spanish). The activities suitable for people with reduced mobility are marked with a disability badge.
Each activity must be pre-booked. It is highly advisable to book online early in the morning as places are allocated rapidly. All activities are in Spanish unless indicated otherwise.
For those who are especially interested in birds and other wildlife, the El Valle Wildlife Recovery Centre is offering guided tours of the facility on January 16 and 29, February 12 and 13, and March 13. The same link can be used to sign up for the tours, which start at 10am or 12pm (noon).
