Murcia weekly weather forecast June 2-5: Rainstorms to break the heat, but not for long
Some light rain and thunderstorms are forecast for northern Murcia this week, but the extreme heat will only let up for a short time before coming back more intense than ever
After the very hot weekend we just had, temperatures are forecast to decrease just a little in the Region of Murcia this week, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and there is even a chance of some rain in places, though for the most part it will continue to be nice and sunny.
For this week, Aemet forecasts “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of medium and high clouds,” and “light, variable winds, tending to southerly” and occasionally “moderate,” which means around 15-20kmh.

For the afternoon of Tuesday June 3 and the morning of Wednesday 4, Aemet notes the chance of “light rainfall… which could be accompanied by thunderstorms in the northwest”. The southern and central parts of Murcia should be unaffected by the rain, however, which will be short-lived and not very strong.

By Wednesday, temperatures will have dropped to a cool 28-34ºC, while at nights it will be around the low teens in northern Murcia, and around 16-20ºC in the centre and on the coast.
After that, no more rain or storms are forecast and temperatures look set to rise ready for the weekend once again. For Saturday June 7, Aemet predicts it could reach as high as a whopping 40ºC in the shade in Cieza, and not far off it in Murcia city, Jumilla and Alhama!
