Murcia weekend weather January 29-February 1: More strong winds forecast before the storm passes
We should see the last of the extremely strong winds this weekend, but the rain will only let up for a short time before it returns next week

Murcia weather warnings, Thursday January 29
The strong winds of Tuesday and Wednesday are set to continue in the Region of Murcia this Thursday January 29, but the Storms Joseph and Kristin will ebb away from Friday onwards, leaving a weekend that is much sunnier and with windspeeds gradually dying down to normal levels once again.
Thursday January 29
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday January 29The weather warnings for this Thursday include an orange alert in the northwestern corner of the Region of Murcia for windspeeds that could reach up to 100kmh between 11am and 6pm, and around the Mar Menor/La Manga area, which could see winds of up to 70kmh and waves up to 4 metres high, between midday and 6pm (slightly weaker in both the early and later parts of the day).
Western Murcia around Lorca, Totana and Águilas is also on yellow alert for strong winds, and some weak showers are expected mainly across the north, west and centre of the Region throughout the afternoon.
Strangely, the temperatures are expected to hit an unseasonable 25ºC this Thursday, while minimums at night are also around three degrees higher than usual, but over the next few days these temps drop down by four or five degrees.
Friday January 30
Murcia weather forecast, Friday January 30Friday is forecast to be much sunnier, with clear skies and virtually no rain at all for the entire day. There are no orange alerts active, but the western, northern and coastal areas of Murcia are still under yellow alerts for strong winds around 30-35kmh, with occasional gusts possible of up to 70kmh.
Saturday January 31
Murcia windspeeds, Saturday January 31The early part of Saturday, too, is forecast to be very windy in the central and Mar Menor areas of Murcia, with speeds of between 30 and 45kmh forecast up until midday. After that, it is forecast to be much calmer with normal windspeeds of 5-10kmh and sunny skies, and temperatures stabilising at around 17-20ºC.
Sunday February 1
Murcia weather forecast, Sunday February 1For the start of February, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts some rain showers, mainly in the west and north of the Region, but mild temperatures staying around 17-20ºC throughout the day.
It will rain on Sunday night, and looking ahead to next week, there is currently more rain forecast for Monday and Tuesday, accompanied by thunderstorms, but mercifully no abnormally strong winds!
