Murcia weather forecast Sept 29-Oct 2: Ex-hurricane Gabrielle brings heavy rain and storms before clearing
A wet and thundery start to the week before sunshine begins to return midweek

Monday September 29

Expect a gloomy and unsettled day with widespread cloud cover. Showers will crop up throughout the region and could turn heavy and stormy, especially over inland areas during the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will stay much the same, but maximums are set to drop quite noticeably, particularly away from the coast. Around Lorca and the northern interior, the afternoon may feel quite cool compared with recent days. Winds will be light and variable for much of the morning, switching to a southerly or south-easterly direction around midday and picking up moderately along the coast. Authorities have issued orange warnings for heavy rain and storms linked to ex-hurricane Gabrielle, so expect persistent downpours especially inland.
Tuesday September 30

Conditions remain unsettled, especially on the coast. The morning begins very cloudy or overcast, with showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of these could be heavy or even very heavy locally along coastal areas such as Mazarrón. Orange or red warnings continue in place due to Gabrielle’s lingering influence, though the heaviest rainfall is expected to ease somewhat by the afternoon as skies begin to clear. Overnight lows will dip in the north, while daytime highs are due to rise across the northern half of the region. In the south around Cartagena, highs are a little more restrained, and in Alicante, conditions stay much the same. Winds will be moderate from the north-east on the coast, while inland communities like Yecla will see lighter breezes.
Wednesday October 1

The outlook brightens. Skies will gradually clear, leaving mostly sunny conditions once the morning low cloud lifts. Minimum temperatures remain unchanged or fall slightly, while maximums creep back up a degree or two. For coastal towns such as San Pedro del Pinatar, there should be plenty of sunshine by the afternoon. Inland around Murcia city, it will feel pleasantly warm without being overly hot. Winds will be light to moderate from the east along the coast and lighter elsewhere, becoming easterly around midday.
Thursday October 2

A quieter day overall with intervals of low cloud across the region. There is a small chance of some weak and scattered showers, mainly affecting inland areas like Caravaca de la Cruz, but most places should stay dry. Temperatures remain steady, showing little change from midweek. Winds will be light and variable, tending towards an easterly direction during the middle of the day, with the possibility of becoming moderate along the coast.
All in all, while the week kicks off with unsettled and thundery weather, things will steadily improve with brighter skies and more comfortable conditions by midweek, before easing into a calmer and more stable pattern to begin October.
