More Saharan dust as temperatures creep up once again: Murcia weather forecast August 25-28
It will get up to 38ºC again this week, with the dust suspended in the air serving to make things feel more muggy and hot

Three more days of calima Saharan dust have been forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for the Region of Murcia at the beginning of this week, though it is not likely to be accompanied by any rain or storms, with the skies staying mainly bright and sunny as temperatures begin to rise once again.
Monday August 25

This Monday is forecast to be mainly clear and sunny in Murcia, though there could be a cloudy spell around San Javier and the Mar Menor in the early afternoon. That will clear up before 5pm and maximum temperatures during the day will begin their slow rise over the course of the week.
Tuesday August 26

It’s a similar story on Tuesday, with Aemet predicting “mostly clear skies” with “minimum temperatures unchanged and maximum temperatures rising” as the calima dust makes everything just a little bit hazy and sandy. They also note there will be “light variable winds, tending to moderate easterly winds in the afternoon,” but not surpassing a slightly breezy 25kmh.
Wednesday August 27

Wednesday this week could even bring some rain to Murcia, but only in the far northwestern mountain ranges of Caravaca de la Cruz, leaving the rest of the Region untouched, though other parts of the northwest could be a bit more overcast.
All other areas will see a continuation of the sunny weather, with temperatures rising up to 38ºC in central Murcia’s Cieza, Archena and Molina de Segura, while most other inland areas reach up to 35-37ºC. On the coast it will be more like 30-34ºC.
Thursday August 28

These high temperatures rise by another degree or two for Thursday, which will be the peak of the week’s high temperatures. After that, it will cool off ever so slightly for Friday and going into the weekend, but we can still expect calm and sunny conditions.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia this week
- Monday August 25: Min 17ºC; Max 34ºC
- Tuesday August 26: Min 17ºC; Max 36ºC
- Wednesday August 27: Min 18ºC; Max 38ºC
- Thursday August 28: Min 18ºC; Max 38ºC
