More heavy rain and storms: Alicante weather forecast Sept 18-21
Torrential rain and thunderstorms have been forecast for large parts of Alicante province from mid-week

Weather outlook for Wednesday September 20
It was quite a weekend in Alicante. Saturday offered typical pleasant autumn weather but it was bookended by violent electrical storms that lit up the skies and downpours that overflowed river banks and flooded roads. But after another day of reprieve at the very beginning of the new week, the arrival of a DANA promises more rain and stormy episodes over the coming days.
Monday September 18

The weather will remain fairly relaxed on Monday with cloudy skies, showers and occasional storms forecast for the very early morning. This will quickly clear though, giving rise to cloudy intervals in the south of the province and mostly clear skies elsewhere, with very little chance of rain.
Daytime temperatures will decrease inland but there will be few changes in general compared to previous days.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday
Alcoy: 16ºC to 27ºC
Alicante: 21ºC to 29ºC
Denia: 21ºC to 29ºC
Elche: 20ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 20ºC to 31ºC
Tuesday September 19

Tuesday will begin with slightly cloudy skies and the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast the arrival of a DANA later in the day. It’s still very uncertain but if the weather front moves into the Mediterranean area it could result in showers in Alicante. Day and night-time temperatures are also likely to fall, albeit only by a degree or two.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Tuesday
Alcoy: 16ºC to 27ºC
Alicante: 20ºC to 30ºC
Denia: 21ºC to 29ºC
Elche: 18ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 30ºC
Wednesday September 20

The rain will be widespread on Wednesday with locally strong showers and storms, particularly early on. Cloudy or overcast skies will predominate and the temperatures will take another dip across the board.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Wednesday
Alcoy: 15ºC to 27ºC
Alicante: 18ºC to 31ºC
Denia: 18ºC to 29ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 17ºC to 30ºC
Thursday September 21

It’s still very unclear how the weather patterns will evolve but at the moment, Aemet believes the DANA will begin to move away from the south and east of Spain on Thursday and head for the Balearic Islands. If this happens, the daytime temperatures will start to climb and the skies will be largely clear.
The only exception is the extreme north of Alicante, where some early morning rain is still a possibility.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 16ºC to 27ºC
Alicante: 19ºC to 29ºC
Denia: 19ºC to 30ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 30ºC
Orihuela: 17ºC to 30ºC
