Mazarrón acquires new supervised housing for people with disabilities
The initiative aims to improve quality of life for disabled people and provide support for their families
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has announced a significant new initiative aimed at enhancing social services in the municipality. In a move that reinforces the town’s commitment to inclusion and the welfare of people with disabilities, the council will purchase a property on Calle Boquera to be used as supervised housing.
This project is expected to bring substantial benefits to families in Mazarrón who require specialised support for their loved ones. The newly acquired home will offer a safe and fully adapted environment where people with disabilities can receive the care and assistance needed to lead more autonomous and independent lives.
By providing a stable and supportive setting, the initiative marks a major advancement in social care in the municipality, ensuring that those in need receive the attention they deserve.
To ensure the success of the project, a dedicated working team has been set up to coordinate with various organisations and existing supervised housing services. The aim is to create a comprehensive support system that fosters autonomy and facilitates the full inclusion of people with disabilities in society.
Mayor Ginés Campillo emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating, “In Mazarrón we are working to build a more inclusive and supportive municipality. With the acquisition of this home, we take an important step in our mission to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and support their families. We will continue to promote initiatives that strengthen the support network and ensure the wellbeing of all our neighbours.”
The project responds to a growing demand for specialised resources for people with disabilities and their families. Many require accessible housing solutions that cater to their specific needs, and with this initiative, Mazarrón joins the ranks of municipalities committed to improving social infrastructure.
By providing tailored services, the town aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals requiring special attention while easing the burden on their families.
