March 30 San Pedro del Pinatar hosts Spanish 20k Race Walking Championship

San Pedro del Pinatar is fast becoming known as a top sporting destination around the country
San Pedro del Pinatar is all set to host the Spanish 20km Race Walk Absolute and Master Championship this coming March 20, one of the most important events in national athletics this year.
This prestigious speed walking event, approved by the Governing Board of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) during a meeting in Madrid, will bring top athletes to the Region of Murcia.
San Pedro del Pinatar has a history of hosting significant athletic events. In 2009, the town was the national capital of Race Walk when it hosted the Spanish Road Race Walking Championship and the National Championship by Autonomous Federations. This experience and the council's commitment to combining tourism and sport have contributed to the town's growing reputation as a sports paradise.
The Councillor for Sports, Pedro Vivancos, highlighted the council's expertise in organising national-level events and the positive impact on breaking the seasonality of the municipality.
On March 30, San Pedro del Pinatar will once again become the epicentre of athletic activity, a date to be marked in the calendar of celebrations for the Centenary of FAMU, the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
