March 3 Artisan market of the Mar Menor in Santiago de la Ribera
The market is held on the seafront of the Explanada Barnuevo alongside the Mar Menor
Santiago de la Ribera in the municipality of San Javier usually hosts a bi-monthly artisan market, the Mercado Artesanal del Mar Menor, and the first such event takes place in February on the second Sunday of the month.
Around 40 stalls are open selling hand-made items from across the Region of Murcia, with a wide range of hand-crafted products, all from genuine regional artisans - as an added bonus it is in a seafront setting on the Explanada Barnuevo, making it an even more attractive proposition for a trip out followed by a coffee or a walk along the seafront.
The market is open from 10.00 until 14.00 and the stallholders on this occasion are Susana Hernández (natural cosmetics), Laura Romero (painted t-shirts), Fran Bueno (handbags), Gloria Candel (decoration), Dulces Brocal (sweet pastries), Ana Andrades (handicrafts), Anna Gambín (recycled goods), Cesar Honorato (marble), Daily Hernández (accessories), Encarna Heredia (textiles), Eulalia García (handicrafts), Eusebia Bolea (pet accessories), Fina Saura (baby clothes), Ginesa Torres (textiles), Inma Alcáraz (gluten-free sweets), José Martínez (honey and beeswax), Margaita García (handicrafts), Mari Carmen Cerezo (therapeutic herbs), María José Saura (jewellery), Natalia López (handbags), Rocío González (macramé), Rosa María Martínez (natural products), Wendy Goncalves (parametric ceramics), Wilson Aguilar (South American jewellery).

Oficina de Turismo de San Javier
The municipality of San Javier has three main offices giving tourist information to visitors, as well as two information points. The tourist offices are located in Santiago de la Ribera, on the ground floor of the town hall in San Javier and at the start of La Manga. There is also a summer tourist information point located on the seafront in Santiago de la Ribera as well as one at kilometre 12-13 of La Manga del Mar Menor next to Playa Mistral.
Due to its location on the fringes of the Mar Menor and Mediterranean, San Javier has a period of intense summer tourism activity during the peak summer months, although it is popular with retirees of all nationalities out of peak season.
Tickets for the annual San Javier Jazz Festival can be purchased at the Festival office in San Javier Town Hall, Plaza de España.
