The investigation revealed 900 marihuana plants, 5,000 euros in cash and two luxury vehicles during two raids in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia
Two Lithuanian men, aged 31 and 49, have been detained for crimes against public health for cultivating and manufacturing drugs and for electricity fraud. One of the arrests was made in Guardamar del Segura.
The investigation was carried out by the Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia, who raided a house located in the La Alcayna urbanization in Molina de Segura in which a large indoor plantation of marihuana, with around 900 sativa cannabis plants was found.
The officers also discovered several electronic tools and devices, phytosanitary products for indoor plantation as well as a submachine gun magazine with 28 cartridges of 9 mm caliber parabellum.
At the time of the raid, the well-equipped plantation was completely operational and had sophisticated technical machinery working to carry out cultivation of the crop.
The property had been badly damaged by the gang as some walls internal walls had been demolished to make better use of the available space and for electrical cabling to be installed in order to support the cultivation.
In a second raid, carried out in Guardamar del Segura, in the province of Alicante, officers seized 5,000 euros, computer materials, documentation relating to the investigation, a frequency inhibitor and two high-end vehicles. A man was also arrested at this property believed to be the proprietor of the 900 cannabis plants and the ringleader of the operation.
