La Manga already fully booked for summer
Many holiday let apartments in La Manga del Mar Menor are already booked up for July and August

Holiday rentals in La Manga del Mar Menor have seen an increase in demand in recent years, despite price increases of between 9 and 12%.
Providing a unique opportunity to choose between enjoying the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea or the Mar Menor salt lagoon, La Manga has long been a popular choice for holidaymakers in summer, and that popularity is only growing.
Interestingly, the majority of these tourists who come to spend the summer in La Manga are not foreigners, but Spanish, and especially from other parts of the Region of Murcia. Of course, there are still plenty of non-Spaniards holidaying in the area too.
And already, shortly after the end of the Easter break, several estate agents and tourist rental apartments are reporting that they are up to 96% booked, practically all full for the months of July and August.
In addition to holiday rentals, real estate agents have detected an increase in year-round rentals, speaking to the appeal of the area in all months and the deseasonalisation of the tourist sector there.
Even so, between November and March every year, more than half the shops in La Manga shut down for the winter because there just isn’t enough custom. This is something that the councils which manage La Manga – Cartagena and San Javier – are looking to try and change in the future.
