Justice served? Only 6 years in prison for beating Irishman to death on the Costa Blanca
Carl Aiden Carr was brutally murdered in 2018 and his body was dumped beside a motorway near Torrevieja

Wayne Walsh, an Irishman convicted of beating and stabbing fellow Dublin expat Carl Aiden Carr to death in 2018 before dumping his body near Torrevieja has reached a plea deal less than a week before his trial was due to start. As a result, he will serve just six years behind bars rather than the 18-year sentence prosecutors were asking for.
Incredibly, the 37-year-old, who recently described himself as “chilling like a villain” on social media, is currently out on bail and doesn’t have to report to the jail until next month to begin his sentence.
Walsh’s accomplice, Kilkenny-born Simon Fahy, died in October 2023 before he could be extradited to Spain to face murder charges.
Carl was brutally beaten with knuckle dusters and stabbed repeatedly during an attack in a house in the La Siesta residential area of Torrevieja in the early hours of September 17, 2018. At the time, the victim was living at the property with both of his killers.
On the night in question, Carl Carr and Simon Fahy brought three women back to the house, one of whom was Wayne’s ex-girlfriend, British model Milly Leonard. According to witness reports, Carr and Leonard had sex on the couch, and Fahy rushed to a pub in Orihuela Costa to tell Wayne what had happened.
While in the bar, the pair hatched a plan to return to the house and confront Carr, “by common and prior agreement, acting with the intention of ending his life.”
Wayne repeatedly punched Carr with knuckle dusters while Fahy stabbed him, but it was ultimately the blows that killed the Dublin man, leading to “complex fractures of the facial bone.”
Once he was dead, Walsh and Fahy contacted a Spanish accomplice who helped to clean up the blood and drive the body to a plot of land beside the AP-7 motorway in Rojales, where they buried Carr.
His body was discovered five months later, at the end of January 2019.
The Spanish man and three women present in the house also went on trial for crimes of concealment and providing false statements; they were each only sentenced to three months in prison.
Walsh, having been given plenty of time put his affairs in order, has been ordered to report to prison between March 11 and 20.
