June 9-11 Elche Street Food Market finally gets underway
Elche's 8th three-day culinary celebration was originally scheduled to take place last month but was postponed due to heavy rain

Persistent heavy rain put a real dampener on culinary celebrations in Elche last month, with organisers of the hugely popular Street Food Market forced to postpone the event and reschedule.
Thankfully conditions have brightened up somewhat, and 14 food trucks will roll into town on Friday June 9 for a spectacular feast of dishes from around the world, music and art.
The festivities will centre around Paseo de la Estación with trucks offering national and international food from the United States, Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand and Mexico among other countries.
The kitchens on wheels will serve up dishes for between two and 10 euros.
There will also be a street market with 18 craft and jewellery stalls, an 'art' zone, and free magic shows and entertainment.

DJ Adriasola will keep the music going before and after each concert, and there will also be a comedy show, children's activities, a live illustration and design workshop, and more.
Felip Sànchez, Councillor for Commerce, said: "Elche Street Food Market has become an important event with great attendance, exceeding 20,000 last year after becoming the first event held after the end of the restrictions of the pandemic".
The street fair will be divided into three areas connected by the different stages: the first being the market with 18 market stalls; the second is the food truck section; and finally the concert area.
Elche Street Market will be open at 7pm on Friday, and 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday.
