June 23 Charity walk in Aguilas to raise funds in the fight against cancer
Music accompanies this fundraiser along the seafront in Águilas
The Spanish national AECC charity, which raises funds to help cancer research and support for patients and families, is holding a charity walk in Águilas on Sunday June 23, setting out at 10.00 from the seafront by the auditorium.
The walk will be led by a musical group and when it ends local singer Mara García will perform in the Plaza de España, approximately 1.6 kilometres (or one mile) from the start.
Registration to take part is a mere 5 euros and participants of all ages are welcome: everyone will receive a green umbrella (green is the colour representing the initiative) donated by the Town Hall. But more importantly, they will be contributing to three main aims of the AECC: helping cancer patients and their families, raising awareness of cancer and collecting funds to support research.
Registration is either at the local AECC headquarters (Calle Armando Muñoz Calero, 24) or at the start of the walk from 9.30 on the day itself.
If visiting Águilas your first port of call should be the local tourist office (click here for map, telephone 968 493285, email turismo@aguilas.es).
