July 30 to August 9 The Burger Land returns to Águilas

The event known as The Burger Land, which specializes in a gastronomic delight that really ought to be obvious from its name, is returning to the esplanade outside the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas from 30th July to 9th August, bringing with it 9 food trucks competing to win the accolade of event winner on the basis of votes from members of the public.
Featured are some of the finest burger establishments in the country, each of them offering a burger which contains at least one local ingredient representing the gastronomy of Águilas and the surrounding area. These can include cheeses, vegetables, seafood or even the local “cuerva” brew, a mix of spirits and fruit which is especially popular during the Carnival celebrations in spring.
Music is being provided by local DJs, guaranteeing a festive atmosphere throughout, and the food stands are open from 19.00 to midnight between Sunday and Thursday and from 19.00 to 1.00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)
Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.
The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
