ARCHIVED - Free tourist tours in and around Orihuela: September 8-25
Under the slogan 'Orihuela awaits you', the programme of trails in the Vega Baja town, Alicante, includes a tour the Virgin of Monserrate
Orihuela has launched a September programme of free tourist routes offering an excellent opportunity to explore the Virgin of Monserrate, the stunning coastline and find out more about the celebrated Orihuela poet, Miguel Hernández.
Under the slogan 'Orihuela awaits you', the tours will run from September 8 to 25, and places must be reserved on the town council's Department of Tourism website. Alternatively, WhatsApp 673 836 385.
The September routes are as follows:
Thursday September 8, 11am: Exterior visit to the Virgen de Monserrate departing from the Tourist Office in the town centre.
Friday September 9, 6pm: Visit to the Virgen de Monserrate departing from the Tourist Office.
Saturday September 10, 11am: Guided tour to the Museo de la Muralla (City Wall Museum). Meet in the museum itself.
Saturday September 10, 7pm: Blue Path (Sendero Azul) route of Orihuela Costa starting at the Torre de Cabo Roig.
Sunday September 11, 11am: Guided tour of the Casa Museo Miguel Hernández. Meet in the museum itself.
Friday September 16, 7pm: Free tourist route entitled 'Monumental' starting at the entrance to Santo Domingo school in the town centre.
Saturday September 17, 11am: Tourist route entitled 'Palacios' (Palaces) departing from the Tourist Office.
Sunday September 18, 11.30am: Guided tour to the Museo de la Muralla.
Friday September 23, 7pm: 'Palacios' route departing from the Tourist Office.
Saturday September 24, 11am: Route entitled 'Miguel Hernández: Life and Work', departing from the Tourist Office.
Sunday September 25, 11.30am: Guided tour to the Museo de la Muralla.
