ARCHIVED - Free online Spanish lessons for expats in Benidorm
The courses are open to all foreign residents living in the popular resort in the Marina Baixa comarca, Alicante province.
British and other expats in Benidorm are being offered free online Spanish courses to "improve their knowledge of the language" and to help socially integrate into the community.
Any foreign residents registered in Benidorm can take part in the free, tailored nine-month course, and there are 400 places available in 14 different languages.
Organised by the Foreign Residents' Department and co-funded by Alicante Provincial Council, the course can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
Students will be given an introduction tutorial, technical assistance in English by email and will be able to customise the course according to their interests, knowledge of Spanish and progress.
The course units can also be downloaded so that residents can work offline.
To join the course, expats must be registered in Benidorm and provide a copy of proof dated from March 2019 onwards.
For those who don't have a document of proof, one can be requested online through Benidorm's Foreign Residents Department.
Registration is on a first-come-first basis by filling in the Foreign Residents Department registration form.
