The blaze broke out at the recycling site in Serreta de Monforte del Cid on Sunday evening, November 20

A dozen firefighters from Elda, Villena and Iba spent almost 24 hours tackling flames that ripped though a recycling site in Serreta de Monforte del Cid on Sunday evening.
According to Alicante Povincial Fire Consortium, the blaze broke out at the open-air plant at around 10pm and was fuelled by strong winds. Crews equipped with six fire engines eventually managed to extinguish the fire just before 7.30pm on Monday evening, November 21.
