Final blast of heat before rain: Alicante weather forecast May 16-19
There’s a good chance of showers across Alicante province this Saturday and Sunday
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday May 18
After a week more typical of summer than mid-spring, Alicante residents can look forward to a couple more days of pleasant temperatures with the mercury hovering between 25 and 30ºC. However, as we head into the weekend, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects the thermometers to take a dip and there’s a good chance of showers throughout the province.
Thursday May 16
The temperatures will fluctuate on Thursday, with the heat more noticeable in the Vega Baja area. And while the mercury will exceed 28ºC at the height of the day in Alicante city, it will be lucky to reach the mid-20s inland.
The day will be mostly clear and a light breeze will grow stronger in the south towards the afternoon.

Alcoy: 12ºC to 25ºC
Alicante: 16ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 15ºC to 27ºC
Elche: 14ºC to 29ºC
Orihuela: 14ºC to 29ºC
Friday May 17
Friday could be a little more overcast but the temperatures will rise by a degree or two in most parts, particularly during the central hours.

Alcoy: 12ºC to 26ºC
Alicante: 16ºC to 25ºC
Denia: 14ºC to 26ºC
Elche: 15ºC to 28ºC
Orihuela: 15ºC to 30ºC
Saturday May 18
Saturday will bring big changes to the weather. It will be largely cloudy with a strong chance of showers and even occasional stormy bursts in most of Alicante, although rain is less likely further south.
Daytime temperatures will take a dip throughout and the breeze will be moderately strong along the coast during the afternoon.

Alcoy: 12ºC to 25ºC
Alicante: 16ºC to 24ºC
Denia: 15ºC to 24ºC
Elche: 15ºC to 27ºC
Orihuela: 16ºC to 29ºC
Sunday May 19
It will be mostly cloudy or overcast on Sunday with storms forecast in the north of Alicante, which could spread in a weaker way to the coast. Very few changes are expected temperature-wise.

Alcoy: 14ºC to 23ºC
Alicante: 16ºC to 24ºC
Denia: 16ºC to 23ºC
Elche: 14ºC to 25ºC
Orihuela: 14ºC to 26ºC
