English speaker dies after falling from Seville bridge into river
The young ‘English-speaking’ man died after plunging into the Guadalquivir river from Seville’s Puente de la Barqueta

A young man died at around midnight on Sunday July 21, after he fell from the Barqueta bridge into the Guadalquivir river in Seville, Andalucía. Police are currently investigating the incident to clarify the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
A large team of firefighters, National Police, Local Police and emergency medical service personnel were quickly deployed to the scene following an emergency call.
The call, received by 112 Andalucía at 00.10am, alerted authorities to a young man who had fallen into the water. The caller specified that the individual was ‘English-speaking’.
Despite the swift response and extensive search efforts, when the man’s body was located, he was already dead. The deceased was identified as a male in his early thirties.
An investigation is underway to determine the events that led to him falling from the bridge, and early reports suggest he may have jumped.
At this time, no further details have been released regarding the identity of the deceased or the potential causes of the incident.
The community in Seville is left in mourning as authorities continue their work to uncover the full story behind this unfortunate accident.
