The tremor was recorded at 2.1 on the Richter scale
At 10.49pm on Monday October 14, the earth shook as a tremor with a magnitude of 2.1 was recorded in Los Montesinos. The tremor was the fifth recorded in a week in the area of Alicante.
The National Geographic institute (IGN) recorded the earthquake in Vega Baja. The tremor took place at a depth of 4 kilometres, with an epicentre just east of Los Montesinos, in the area that divides the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja.
Many felt the tremor in the area last night and awoke to the news that it was an earthquake they had felt.
