ARCHIVED - Driver seriously injured after car plunges six metres into a ravine in Alicante
The motorist's legs were trapped in the vehicle following the accident in the Vall de Laguar near Denia

A motorist was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to hospital after his car veered off the CV-721 in the Vall de Laguar near Denia in the Marina Alta area of Alicante province and plunged six metres into a ravine on Sunday June 19.
The accident happened at around 4pm at kilometre 7 between Fleix and Benimaurell.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, which overturned in thick undergrowth, and had to be freed by fire crews.
A medical helicopter was immediately sent to the scene, along with police, and the seriously injured man was airlifted to Denia fire station where a Basic Life Support ambulance was waiting to transfer him to Denia hospital.
The extent of the victim's injuries has not been made public and as yet, the cause of the accident is unknown.
