Construction of Playa Honda-Villas Caravaning cycle path to begin in early 2024
The work is being put out to tender now, and could be open as soon as April next year
Work to create a new cycle and pedestrian path to join Playa Honda and Villas Caravaning near the Mar Menor is due to begin “in the first quarter of 2024”, according to Cartagena City Council.
The project is included in the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism in Cartagena 2022-2025 and has already entered the tendering phase.
It is now up for concessionary companies to bid to build the path, which will be made using “environmentally friendly building materials and construction methods”.
Once work begins, which could be any time between January and March next year, the timescale for the project to be completed is three months, so we’re looking at an opening time of somewhere between April and June 2024.
