Concern grows for British tourist, 61, missing in Spain
The holidaymaker is visiting Mallorca but hasn’t been in touch with family for several days
The family of 61-year-old British tourist John Webster is growing increasingly concerned after losing contact with him on Monday February 26, prompting a widespread search for his whereabouts. Mr Webster, who was on holiday in the vibrant city of Palma de Mallorca, was last in touch with his partner, Kristiane Johnston, four days ago.
The Briton failed to phone back when he said he would, and attempts to reach him at the Urban Hostel Palma where he was staying have failed to turn up a trace.
His sudden silence has alarmed his loved ones, leading to urgent calls for anyone with information to come forward.
Mr Webster, who was expected to remain on the island until March, had been regularly checking in with his family and friends. However, his failure to do so has raised concerns about his well-being, especially given his usual habit of staying in touch.
Local police and the broader community have joined forces in the search for the tourist, with efforts underway to gather leads from customers and staff at Hogan's pub, where he was last seen.
Johnston and Webster's family have issued a public plea, urging anyone with even the slightest piece of information to come forward.
The search continues to intensify, with a growing sense of urgency. Anyone who has seen John Webster or has information regarding his whereabouts is strongly encouraged to reach out. His family remains optimistic, and hopes are high that some light can be shed on the man’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, the first anniversary is approaching of the date Scot Gary Watson vanished without a trace while on holiday in Lanzarote. The 53-year-old, who travelled to Puerto del Carmen to celebrate St Patrick’s Day last March, disappeared just hours after arriving on the island and hasn’t been heard from since.
