Central Sucina gets a makeover with new cobbled pedestrian spaces
A 560m2 repaving project improves accessibility and prepares for future pedestrianisation of the town

The City Council of Murcia has completed a street improvement project in the centre of the hamlet of Sucina, laying new cobblestones to create a safer, more accessible environment for pedestrians. The upgrade covers 560 square metres and includes the streets of Las Balsas, San Pedro and Escultor Roque López, all located around the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

The project involved the removal of old paving and the installation of new cobblestones to level the surface, resulting in a uniform shared roadway that improves walkability and accessibility. Along with renewed signage, these upgrades allow the more than 2,500 residents of Sucina to enjoy a safer and more pedestrian-friendly centre.

These works respond to long-standing local requests, reinforcing the City Council’s commitment to enhancing the liveability of Murcia’s smaller districts.
