ARCHIVED - Camposol company installs childrens games area in Sector B Commercial Centre
The new games area is a by-product of the infant’s playground installed by Mazarrón Council
A children’s games area has been installed outside the Compusurf office on Camposol’s B Sector Commercial Centre, with a noughts and crosses frame, two fixed board games and seating for eight players or spectators.
The games area came into being after Compusurf sponsored the land train transportation during the Camposol Fiesta with ticket proceeds going into an account held by the Lions/Leos charity in order to raise funds. The provision of such a playground had long been called for by local parents and children alike.
However, Mazarrón Councillor for Camposol, Silvana Buxton organised the installation of the infant's playground on Sector A at the same time as the 5 a-side football pitch on Sector D in 2021 and also arranged for Mazarrón Council to fund both facilities in full, leaving the Lions/Leos account as surplus. The Lions approached Julie Townsend of Compusurf asking how the funds should be used and it was decided that as the money was originally intended for a facility for children the surplus funds should be used to create a children's area.
After weighing up various options Compusurf made the area outside their office available and the games area was installed. It is open to all children, dice and counters will be available from the Compusurf office until alternative secure arrangements are made.
