A 76-year-old British man who had been missing for two days in Benidorm was finally located in the vicinity of the Aqualandia water park at midday on Friday July 22, as reported by the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters in Alicante.

The Brit had last been seen on Wednesday July 20 in the water park, according to the missing persons’ association SOS Desaparecidos, which reported the disappearance, and a search party was activated to try and find him.

At around 2pm on Friday, the fire brigade was called in by the National Police, and a helicopter and a rescue team were mobilised to the area.

Finally, the helicopter located the man some 500 metres from the water park. He was found with several injuries on his feet caused by walking barefoot and wandering in the bush, and was suffering from dehydration.

It’s still unclear why the man wandered off and was unable to find his way back again, and he may have been disoriented.
