ARCHIVED - Boy, 11, falls 50ft to his death practising parkour on Costa Blanca hotel roof
The victim, believed to be Norwegian, reportedly "sneaked" into the hotel in Alfaz del Pi, Alicante province, to practise the daredevil sport

An 11-year-old boy has died in hospital after plunging 50ft from the roof of a hotel in Alfaz del Pi, just 10km from Benidorm, while practicing the sport of parkour – jumping unassisted from one point to another.
The Norwegian youngster reportedly "sneaked" into the hotel with a friend after forcing a padlock to get to the roof of the building where electronic devices and air conditioning units are stored.
It's believed part of the roof gave way, and the victim, who lived with his family in Alfaz, fell to the ground-floor reception area of the unnamed hotel at around 3pm on Sunday December 4.
A guest at the hotel, a former registered nurse, attended to the child until paramedics arrived at the scene, stabilised him and took him to Villajoyosa's Marina Baixa Hospital. Escorted by the Guardia Civil and Local Police forces, he was then transferred to the General University Hospital Doctor Balmis in Alicante, due to the seriousness of his injuries, but tragically died around 11.30pm on Sunday night.
The child's 47-year-old mother was also taken to hospital and treated for shock.
An investigation into exactly what happened has been launched by the Guardia Civil.
Three years ago, a student fell to his death in a parkour tragedy at a construction site in Madrid, and a 12-year-old boy died attempting to jump unassisted from one roof to another in Cadiz.
