ARCHIVED - Body of missing woman found on farm in Valencia after suspect confesses
Divers from the Valencia Guardia Civil's Special Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) found the victim's body in a well.
The body of a young woman missing for almost 18 months has been discovered in a well on a farm in Valencia town Pobla LLarga after a suspect confessed to killing her and dumping her body on his family's land.
David Solar, 30, was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, June 16, in connection with the disappearance of 19-year-old Wafaa Sebbah, an Algerian woman from the same town, who was reported missing by her mother on November 17, 2019.
Despite not being cooperative on his arrest, the detainee later confessed to killing the young woman and a search team with dogs began scouring the area on the Puig Gros urbanisation this morning, locating her body this afternoon (Thursday, June 17).
The Guardia Civil believe Wafaa was killed on the day she disappeared.
According to police sources, David D has a history of gender violence, and had been "harassing" the victim for sex prior to her disappearance, advances she rebuked.
Valencia's Central Operational Unit (UCO) and the Guardia Civil handled the investigation and David D was arrested in nearby town Manuel. He remains in police custody and the investigation continues.
