Black Eyed Peas headline Brilla Torrevieja Music festival this August
The six-time Grammy Award winning band will host four concerts in Spain this year
The third edition of the Brilla Torrevieja festival will rock the streets of the Alicante coastal city this summer with a plethora of musical performances, but the excitement is palpable since the organisers announced on Wednesday March 29 that American superstars Black Eyed Peas will be headlining.
The six-time Grammy Award winners, with more than 40 million monthly Spotify listeners, will perform at Antonio Soria Park on Friday August 11, one of only four concerts the group will play in Spain this year.
Brilla Torrevieja will run from July 30 until August 20 with a host of national and international stars including Spanish favourites Melendi, India Martinez and Loquillo.
With eight studio albums behind them and global smash hits such as 'I Gotta Feeling', 'The Time' and 'Girl Like Me', the hip-hop sensations return to Spain to promote their latest album ‘Elevation’, which features guest performances from well-known artists like Shakira, whose own recent offerings have kicked up a storm, and Daddy Yankee.
The Black Eyed Peas will also hit Cadiz, Marbella and Majorca later in the year but tickets for their Torrevieja gig go on sale on Sunday April 2.
The exciting line-up has yet to be fully announced, festival promoter Javier Riquelme said, who explained that "weekly we will be revealing the rest of the artists and other novelties that the third edition of Brilla Torrevieja brings with it, which promises the visitor a unique experience that encompasses the entire demand for family, cultural, musical and gastronomic leisure both in the city and its surroundings."
