ARCHIVED - Benidorm dance festival June 24 to 26: all performances free
Benidorm in the Marina Baixa comarca of Alicante province on the Costa Blanca will bring contemporary dance to the streets.
Benidorm is staging its first free contemporary dance festival 'Les Ones' from June 24 to 26 showcasing the talents of emerging dance groups and young choreographers.
Urban and contemporary performances will take place in the centre of Benidorm, as part of the "innovative project" aimed at bringing "culture to street level for residents and visitors".
The festival has been made possible following a €6,000 grant from Alicante Provincial Council, and the line-up is as follows:
Thursday, June 24, 9pm - Opening performance by Marroch dance company in the Plaza de la Hispanidad.
Friday, June 25, 11am - Contemporary show by Benidorm's dance schools in the Plaza SSMM Reyes de España.
Friday, June 25, 9pm - 'Moon Valley' by Dahiana Betancourt and Sergio Navarro in El Castell.
Saturday, June 26, 7pm - Argentine Eduardo Ignacio Fizona will premiere the solo 'Piel' in El Castell.
Saturday, June 26, 7.15pm - Another premiere of 'Persistente' by Benidorm performer Lidia Lara Tomás in El Castell.
Saturday, June 26, 9pm - Tanit Cobas and Marta Santacatalina close the festival in the Placa El Castell.
