ARCHIVED - Benidorm shoppers to be gifted more than 3.7 million euros in vouchers to spend this Christmas
Adults registered in the Costa Blanca resort can apply for five vouchers worth 10 euros each to spend locally

Costa Blanca's biggest coastal resort will launch its annual 'Benidorm Gives You More' campaign next week in which adults (over 18) registered in the Marina Baixa town can apply for five discount vouchers worth 10 euros each to redeem in local shops and businesses between December 15 and 31.
Announcing the imminent launch, mayor Toni Pérez said #BenidormTeDaMás' is “an excellent formula to stimulate economic activity, achieving the double objective of helping families in a time of difficulty and doing the same with local businesses, injecting the economy and encouraging consumption”.
The vouchers, which will be available in coming days in QR format through the BuyBono 'app' or on the web www.bonobenidormtedamas.es, can be used as a discount on purchases in shops equal to or greater than 20 euros in participating establishments and businesses.
According to the current census data, the council estimates 63,540 people will potentially benefit from this year's campaign (1,540 more than last year) and a budget of 3,177,000 euros has been set aside.
"By the end of this campaign on December 31, the bonus-consumption system will have generated a turnover of more than 18 million euros in Benidorm over three editions of the voucher scheme," said the mayor.
He added: "Benidorm was the first municipality in Alicante province to launch this initiative to coincide with Christmas, a formula of bonus-consumption that has now been replicated in virtually all towns in the province."
