Balearia increases Denia-Balearic Island crossings with additional ferry this summer
From mid-June, the shipping company will boost weekend trips from Denia Port with four additional services a week
Ahead of what is expected to be a bumper summer season in the wake of crippling travel and mobility restrictions, shipping company Baleària has announced plans to increase crossings between Denia, in the Marina Alta region of Alicante, and the Balearic Islands.
An extra ferry will be drafted in from mid-June "to meet high seasonal demand" and boost weekend trips with four additional weekly connections: two to the Ibizan port of Evissa and two to Palma in Mallorca.
The extra service will complement the daily rotation of the Eleanor Roosevelt fast ferry on the triangular route with Ibiza and Mallorca and the connections of the Ramon Llull fast ferry with the Pitiusas islands.
From Friday to Monday, the ferry company, which celebrates in 25th anniversary this year, will connect the mainland with Ibiza in a 3.5 hour trip, departing at 7.30am from the Denia Port and returning at 8.30pm.
Similarly, on Fridays and Sundays, the ferry will complete the route to Palma, leaving the port of Eivissa at 11.30am and returning at 4.30pm. In addition, Baleària has scheduled additional services to meet the days of greatest demand during July and August.
The ship offers various facilities/accommodations (armchair, superior armchair and cabins) and has a shop, bar, restaurant and children's area, free digital entertainment and internet connection.
