ARCHIVED - Mundomar animal park in Benidorm will reopen on June 12
The popular Costa Blanca attraction in Alicante province will re-open to the public next month with new additions.
Mundomar nature park is home to an array of exotic and marine species, including giant tortoises, tropical birds, sea lions and dolphins, and will welcome visitors once again from June 12.
And its grand reopening will see the unveiling of a new area which houses a family of four Harris Eagles which have been reared by park staff during its closure due to the pandemic.
This new species will be part of a packed program of educational demonstrations which the park has put together to replace animal shows.
"The aim of Mundomar has always been to raise awareness among visitors about respect for the natural environment and the species that inhabit it," said park management.
The demonstrations of tropical birds, sea lions and dolphins will allow customers to learn about the behaviour and characteristics of the different species up close.
"We are launching our 2021 season with greater participation, proximity and sustainability...its very exciting," the park added.
In another new addition, nature lovers can enjoy an exclusive VIP visit, a three-hour guided tour of the fascinating facility and its residents.
Among the activities that children can take part in is the dolphin encounter in which five to 12-year-olds can get up close to the incredible mammals, accompanied by an adult.
The can also swim with sea lions, and the park, which will be open every day from 10am to 6pm, assures all health and safety measures are in place in line with Covid guidelines.
