ARCHIVED - Mini earthquake recorded off the coast of Alicante
The 1.7 magnitude quake was located between Alicante and Cabo de Santa Pola

A mini earthquake measuring 1.7 on the Richter scale was recorded off the Alicante coast at 2.50am on Tuesday morning, May 31.
The tremor was located between Alicante and Cabo de Santa Pola, northeast of the island of Tabarca at a depth of 24km, according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
This is one of the areas with the most seismic activity in the province of Alicante in recent months (see below). The recent movement is the fourth to register above 1.5 on the Richter scale in this particular area so far this year, and the seventh along Alicante province coastline.
