ARCHIVED - Alicante teen suffers possible myocarditis after second Covid vaccination
The young man is understood to be recovering well in an Alicante hospital
For the second time in a few weeks, a teenager has been admitted to the General Hospital of Alicante with possible myocarditis after receiving his second Covid-19 vaccine last week.
The 17-year old began experiencing chest pain within days of receiving the jab and was brought by his family to the emergency room where he was treated for a suspected case of myocarditis.
Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart and can be caused by the body’s immune system responding to a trigger, such as a vaccination. According to hospital sources, the boy’s situation isn’t serious and he is doing well. This condition is a known side effect of inoculations, but it is very rare.
Just a few weeks ago, a second case of myocarditis was diagnosed at the Alicante hospital, and although investigations are ongoing it hasn’t yet been determined if there is a connection between the condition and the coronavirus vaccine.
