ARCHIVED - Alicante province registers third earthquake in a fortnight
The seismic tremor, recorded between Pinoso and Monóvar on the Costa Blanca, registered 2.2 on the Richter scale
A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Sunday afternoon, November 14, between Pinoso and Monóvar, the third in Alicante province this month.
Although the National Geographic Institute has located the earthquake to the north east of Pinoso, the epicentre was located within the municipality of Monóvar, in the area of Casas de Joan Blanco to the north west of the town centre.
The seismic movement was recorded at 8.11pm between La Solaneta and Cañadas de Don Ciro, at a depth of three kilometres.
All three quakes that have occurred since the beginning of November have taken place in the Alto and Mitja Vinalopó areas of the province, with the first on November 1 in Algueña and a second in Cañada on November 7.
