Alicante weekend weather forecast October 15-18: Torrential rain possible as storms hit this weekend
Heavy rain and thunderstorms could affect the Costa Blanca this weekend, with AEMET warning of potentially torrential downpours along the coast on Sunday

After enjoying some lovely warm October weather, with temperatures getting close to 30°C in parts of Alicante province, things are about to feel a lot more like autumn. Friday should bring one more warm day before temperatures drop over the weekend, with cloud, rain and possible storms replacing some of the recent sunshine. Let's take a look at the daily breakdown:
Thursday October 15
Cloudy skies and rain are forecast across much of Alicante province, with low cloud particularly noticeable, although it should remain relatively warm for October. Alicante city and Orihuela are both forecast to reach 27°C, while Dénia and Elche could see highs of 26°C. Alcoy is expected to reach 24°C.
Friday October 16
Friday looks considerably brighter, with mostly clear skies expected after some low cloud in coastal areas during the morning. Temperatures will be warm, with little change along the coast and a rise in some inland areas.
Orihuela could reach 29°C, while Alicante city and Elche are forecast to reach 28°C. Dénia should see a high of 27°C, as should Alcoy.
Saturday October 17
The weather is expected to turn more unsettled on Saturday, with very cloudy or overcast skies and showers across the province. Thunderstorms are also possible, and AEMET does not rule out locally heavy downpours.
Temperatures will begin to fall inland, although coastal areas should remain relatively warm. Alicante city, Elche and Orihuela are forecast to reach around 27°C, while Dénia could see 26°C and Alcoy 25°C.
Sunday October 18
Sunday is the day to watch, with AEMET forecasting rainfall that could be heavy and persistent. Showers may become very intense in places, particularly along the coast, where torrential rainfall cannot be ruled out. Thunderstorms are also possible.
Temperatures are expected to fall noticeably, with highs of 23°C in Alicante city and 22°C in Dénia, Elche and Orihuela. Alcoy is forecast to reach just 18°C.
With the potential for intense rainfall, keep an eye on AEMET forecasts and official weather alerts before travelling or making any plans. Reports of a possible DANA are also circulating, although the situation will need to be monitored as the forecast develops.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante province this weekend:

Thursday October 15: Min 13°C; Max 27°C
Friday October 16: Min 13°C; Max 29°C
Saturday October 17: Min 15°C; Max 27°C
Sunday October 18: Min 11°C; Max 23°C
