Alicante starts the week with heavy rain: weather forecast Jan 8-11
Showers will be widespread throughout Alicante province with stormy intervals inland
Weather outlook on Wednesday January 10
After a weekend marked by strong gusts of wind and a drastic drop in temperatures, the unstable weather will continue all week and a far more active storm will arrive between Tuesday and Wednesday associated with an incoming DANA in northern Spain.
Clear blue skies will quickly give way heavy rainfall in most of the province and falling temperatures will result in the first sleet of the season in mountainous areas.
Monday January 8
Monday will be the most pleasant day of the week as the clear weather continues to hang on, but it will become more overcast towards the evening. Daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged but the night will be a little cooler, with weak frosts forecast inland.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday
Alcoy: 0ºC to 12ºC
Alicante: 6ºC to 17ºC
Denia: 6ºC to 16ºC
Elche: 5ºC to 16ºC
Orihuela: 5ºC to 15ºC
Tuesday January 9
Cloudy or overcast skies will result in a chance of rain throughout Alicante as the temperatures continue to decline. Weak frosts will again make an appearance in central points.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Tuesday
Alcoy: 3ºC to 8ºC
Alicante: 6ºC to 14ºC
Denia: 6ºC to 13ºC
Elche: 5ºC to 13ºC
Orihuela: 5ºC to 11ºC
Wednesday January 10
Wednesday will be dull, dreary and very wet, although the heaviest rain is forecast in the north of the province. The snow level will fall to between 900 and 1,400 metres although the temperatures will begin to rise.

Alcoy: 5ºC to13ºC
Alicante: 9ºC to 17ºC
Denia: 8ºC to 16ºC
Elche: 8ºC to 17ºC
Orihuela: 8ºC to 16ºC
Thursday January 11
The skies will begin to clear in southern Alicante on Thursday although it will remain fairly overcast in the north. Rain is still a possibility but it should be much lighter and the day and nighttime temperatures will remain more or less the same.

Alcoy: 3ºC to7ºC
Alicante: 5ºC to 12ºC
Denia: 7ºC to 13ºC
Elche: 4ºC to 12ºC
Orihuela: 3ºC to 12ºC
