Alicante homeowners over 60 could claim up to €10,000 for home improvements
The funding is available throughout the Valencian Community for accessibility improvements carried out during 2025

Thousands of older residents across Alicante and the wider Valencian Community could be eligible for grants of up to €10,000 to help cover the cost of home improvements designed to make properties more accessible.
The regional government has launched a new funding programme aimed at people aged 60 and over who have carried out adaptation works at their main residence during 2025.
The grants can be used to help cover the cost of projects that remove mobility barriers and make homes easier and safer to navigate. This includes bathroom adaptations, improvements to kitchens and living areas, as well as work carried out in communal parts of apartment buildings.
The scheme also covers accessibility upgrades such as ramps, lifts and platform systems designed to improve access for residents with mobility issues.
For many expats and retirees living in Alicante, the funding could provide valuable support for projects that help people remain independent in their own homes for longer.
To qualify, applicants must be aged over 60 and the work must have been carried out during 2025 at their primary residence within the Valencian Community.
The maximum amount available is €10,000 per project, although the final amount awarded will depend on the application and the work completed.
The programme has a budget of more than €1 million and applications can be submitted for one month from the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Government.
Applications can be completed online through the regional government's website. Residents can also apply in person through regional offices, PROP service centres, post offices and other authorised locations.
Anyone considering applying is advised to gather the necessary documentation as soon as possible, as the application window is limited to one month.
