Aguilas renovation projects get seal of approval from MEP
Marcos Ros MEP has visited the main projects in Águilas that are being co-financed with European funds
The Minister of the European Parliament Marcos Ros MEP has been taking a tour of some of the projects in Murcia being developed in the town with European funding, including several in Águilas.
To this end, he met with Águilas Mayor Mari Carmen Moreno to visit the Social Revitalisation Centre – a development that is framed within the EDUSI Project and which is 80% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) – and to the Ruano Building, the renovation of which is possible thanks to European Next Generation funds, allocated to the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through a grant of more than 1,867,000 euros from the Public Buildings Rehabilitation Programme (PIREP).
Mayor Moreno commented, “Thanks to these European Funds and thanks to the work being carried out in Europe, town councils such as the one in Águilas have been able to obtain European funding to carry out projects as important as these, which in the case of the Casa Ruano will become a cultural reference point for the municipality.”
For his part, Marcos Ros MEP has been able to accredit the good progress of the European projects that are being worked on by the Town Hall of Águilas.
“Once again it has been demonstrated that the work being carried out in the European Parliament is close to the citizens. We are dealing with projects that are committed to technological innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability and, above all, social inclusion by giving public use to these spaces,” he said.
In addition, Ros congratulated the Town Council “for its excellent management and for how they realised that the objective of the European Funds is none other than ecological transformation, digital modernisation and social inclusion; something that this Town Council saw and which led them to work from day one to achieve all the projects that they did”.
